Local Friends Running for Political Office

With all of the hustle and bustle/controversy over this nation’s presidential election, it is easy to lose sight of the local elections that are also very important.  Rather than focus on particular races, I am going to share with you some of my personal friends who are running for office.  Please take a look at their platforms and if so moved and you live in the appropriate district, cast your vote accordingly:

San Francisco:

Matt Haney – School Board

Paul Henderson – Superior Court Judge

London Breed – Board of Supervisors

East Bay:

James Vaughn – Tracy Unified School Board

Mister Phillips – West Contra Costa School Board

Lateefah Simon – BART Board

Rochelle Pardue-Okimoto – El Cerrito City Council

Peggy Moore – Oakland City Council at Large

Rebecca Kaplan – Oakland City Council at Large

Marcie Hodge – Oakland City Council District 7

Lynette Gibson McElhaney – Oakland City Council District 3.

Uche J. Uwahemu – Richmond City Council

It takes a lot of guts to put your money where you mouth is, roll up your sleeves, and dedicate your life to be a public servant.  They all should be applauded.

And don’t forget to vote for Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton!  Get out the Vote!
