Kevin has worked in multifaceted capacities in some of the most prolific international law firms in the country, such as Morrison & Foerster (Mofo), Paul Hastings (PH), Heller Ehrman, and Holland & Knight (H&K). There, he has garnered relationships with some of the most influential and well-respected legal minds in the industry, as well as junior associates who through attrition, are now counsel for some of the top Fortune 500 companies.
After working in “Big Law” for over 12 years, Nichols spent over 7 years working for Electronic Discovery (eDiscovery) provider as a West Coast Regional Sales Manager advising Fortune 500 companies on document collection, production, and retention policies and procedures, legal holds, information governance, machine learning/AI, social media monitoring and collection, and other legal software related issues as a regional sales manager for various eDiscovery providers. He serves on the advisory board of Trusted CI, a think tank of trustworthy National Science Foundation (NSF) partnered organizations and cyberinfrastructure (CI) operators untied to build and maintain effective cybersecurity programs nationwide. Kevin now serves as a Commissioner on the California State Bar’s Judicial Nominees Evaluation Commission.

Kevin is recognized for his leadership in developing successful recruitment and retention strategies and has developed and executed companywide strategic plans, employee engagement initiatives such as summits, listening tours, town halls, and climate surveys while embedding inclusive talent strategies across the organization. He has designed scalable processes centered around companies’ missions and values across organizations. Nichols delivered interactive trainings and coached 200+ leaders on inclusive leadership and accountability. His work advising C-suite executives, leading high-performance teams, and creating systemic change through data-driven initiatives positions him as a unique asset in boardrooms prioritizing ESG, innovation, and human capital strategy.
Reputation Strategy
A visible figure in the community, Kevn has founded the 10,000-member Bay Area Black Professionals Group and co-founded the 4,000-member Family Wellness Group while demonstrating his ability to build and mobilize large networks. He regularly gives his keynote talk, “The Personal Brand Called You!” at national conferences and his contributions have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the BMO Black Tech Community Builder of the Year Award in 2024 and a feature on LinkedIn’s Login Screen as an icon from 2011-2014. Kevin has built the online presence for various small to midsized law firms and has advised lawyers, local and national politicians, and venture backed companies on branding and networking for business development purposes.
